About Me

Hello, I'm Cheryl, a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist specialising in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), with experience across a range of anxiety-related difficulties.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which I use as the foundation of my clinical work. My approach is structured, evidence-based, and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients break free from cycles of intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and anxiety. You can find out more about my services here.

Alongside my private practice, I have worked within the NHS with individuals presenting with complex and enduring mental health difficulties, informing a grounded and clinically robust approach.

I work in line with NICE guidelines for OCD, BDD, and anxiety disorders, ensuring treatment is evidence-based and aligned with national best practice.

My aim is to support you in understanding and changing the processes that maintain OCD and BDD, and to help you achieve meaningful, lasting change.

Q&A

I love meeting new people and supporting them as they work toward their goals. It's incredibly rewarding to see someone break through barriers, gain confidence, and begin living a more fulfilling life. I feel genuinely proud when a client experiences a positive breakthrough, and it's a privilege to be part of their journey.
I've always been drawn to helping others. Throughout my career, I've been inspired by professionals like counsellors and therapists, which sparked my curiosity about different therapeutic approaches. This led me to evidence-based therapies such as CBT, which I've continued to study and value deeply. My experience as a SEN teacher also showed me the powerful impact that holistic support can have on a person's life.
I'd describe my therapy style as collaborative, genuine, and compassionate. I like to work alongside clients in a way that feels safe, supportive, and understanding.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, getting out in nature, going for walks, practising yoga, and travelling to experience new places and cultures. I also enjoy reading and working on creative projects that help me unwind and recharge.
